About UAPP
UAPP brings together institutions nationwide dedicated to advancing homeland security education. This effort seeks to increase the number of students receiving homeland security education, accelerate the establishment of high-quality academic programs, and provide opportunities for collaboration that create an intellectual multiplier effect that furthers the study of homeland security.
The Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) makes available through the UAPP partnership its curriculum, Homeland Security Digital Library, and all other learning materials and resources. In return, partners share their curriculum and specialized expertise with the UAPP partners.

UAPP is an invaluable resource that links institutions of higher learning with public and private stakeholders within the homeland security enterprise. The annual Homeland Defense & Security Education Summit brings together academics, who present their cutting-edge research with leaders and policymakers from all levels of government as well as the private sector. UAPP was at the forefront of the development of homeland security as its own separate and unique academic discipline with associate, bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs at more than 400 colleges and universities across the United States.

UAPP is a vital part of homeland defense, homeland security, and emergency management higher education. Our program has significantly benefitted from its conferences and key resources. The annual UAPP conference allows you to network with and share best practices among colleagues, discuss emerging trends in both the practitioner and educational worlds, and hear from government and industry leaders. Additionally, UAPP’s databases, including a digital library, and master’s theses, are fantastic resources for both professors and students. UAPP’s biggest asset is its outstanding leadership – selfless individuals who go out of their way to help other college and university programs and faculty educate the next generation of government and industry professionals.
