ABOUT
As the Strategic and Crisis Communications manager for a regional government agency, I work simultaneously to respond to crisis, build public and media trust, and lead a brilliant team of big picture thinkers. The agency is unique in that we are led by a Chief Operating Officer and a council of seven elected officials. My team’s primary work involves creating and evaluating strategic communication goals across a wide swath of topics. We work in research, community engagement, media and social media, content distribution, and language access.
I also have a vested interest in disaster and crisis response. My focus is in growing our public information officer network, creating resilient plans and agencies, and ensuring skills development for our communications team is ongoing. I work as a chair for our RDPO PIO Workgroup, sit on the board for IAP2 in our region, and volunteer with my local, rural CERT.
