ABOUT
Serving as a second-line supervisor for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Area Port of Chicago, John provides strategic oversight of enforcement activity related to customs and immigration laws. As the Chief CBP Officer for the Tactical Terrorism Response Team, he specializes in counterterrorism and counterintelligence techniques to safeguard our homeland from known and unknown threats. Innovative measures ensure effective collaboration, communication, and trust between law enforcement and intelligence partners amidst an expanding range of traditional and nontraditional threats to national security.
Providing strategic oversight requires expert knowledge of agency policies and procedures to ensure the boundaries of enforcement are met within the scope of border search authority. Such knowledge positions CBP to anticipate evolving threats and emerge as a key contributor to the intelligence community.
John continually seeks to develop diverse and inclusive specialized work units where success is dictated by personal experiences, intellectual curiosity, and employee engagement. He strives to arm frontline personnel with “decision advantage” to improve agency outcomes and further homeland security initiatives.
