ABOUT

As a founder of nonprofits, a military officer, and independent consultant, Dillon Mathies relies on 10+ years of diverse experience to solidify himself as a leader in the public, private, and nonprofits sectors.

With over nine years as a military officer, Dillon has achieved the rank of Major and has deployed in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield in the Middle East. Utilizing his military background and experience with strategic-level and operational-level planning and execution, Dillon has built two veteran-focused nonprofits, serving thousands of World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and our most recent Middle Eastern and Eastern European war veterans at the local and state levels in Louisiana. As a Board Member of the Cadets of the Ole War Skule, Dillon joins other like-minded veterans to serve Louisiana State University and promote the “long purple line” that is the rich military tradition of the university.

In the private and nonprofit sectors, Dillon has applied critical analysis and creativity to develop short- and long-term strategic plans, redesigned various management processes to improve efficiency, and has created and maintain social media strategies and numerous websites.

Dillon graduated with a BA in History, BA in Political Science, and BA in Disaster Science and Management at Louisiana State University, and holds a Master of Business Administration and Graduate Certificate in Analytics from the E.J. Ourso College of Business at LSU.

CHDS AFFILIATION

As a retired General Officer and as a former State Legislator and Speaker of the House, I have had the experience of working with Dillon for the last six years, three years of which we both are serving on the Board for the ‘Cadets of the Ole War Skule’ (COWS) at Louisiana State University (LSU). Dillon has interacted with elected officials, both present and former, financial donors, and University officials in all sorts of situations. He has continually displayed a ‘calm and cool’ demeanor and … has excellent communication skills and fully understands when to listen and when to speak!
