ABOUT
Chad Gorman is CEO of Gravitas Strategies, focused on helping organizations achieve their mission and mitigate risk through security and resilience solutions.
Prior to Gravitas Strategies, Chad served as TSA’s Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Operations Support responsible for providing innovative solutions and processes to protect U.S. transportation systems and the traveling public.
Prior to joining TSA, Chad spent over 13 years with FEMA. As the Acting Regional Administrator for FEMA Region 2, he oversaw a comprehensive multibillion-dollar portfolio, leading federal recovery efforts for New York and New Jersey after Hurricane Ida. After the 2017 storms, Chad also accelerated recovery operations in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico through partnerships with both governors to streamline recovery efforts, increase accountability measures, and deliver meaningful recovery outcomes for impacted communities. In addition, he served as Federal Coordinating Officer for FEMA’s Region 2 COVID-19 response within New York, New Jersey, US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico and coordinated rapid public health and medical support on behalf of the President.
Appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 2017, Chad provided mission-driven leadership throughout his tenure with FEMA. As Deputy Assistant Administrator for National Preparedness, he oversaw programs to mitigate the nation’s top risks and threats. He led FEMA’s National COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force to expedite vaccine administration to over one-third of the U.S. population in 100 days. Chad also led FEMA’s efforts to achieve the National Preparedness Goal of making sure the nation is ready for all types of disasters and emergencies.
