Paula L. Scalingi, Ph.D., Director, Pacific Northwest Center for Regional Disaster Resilience Pacific Northwest Economic Region gives an in-depth overview of the relationships, roles and responsibilities of the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability and its relation to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. In this presentation, Dr. Scalingi discusses the challenges in securing our nation’s energy infrastructure. This presentation was made at the Infrastructure Modernization Initiative: Homeland Security Implications and Challenges workshop held March 16-17, 2009 at the NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security in Monterey, CA. This workshop discussed the objectives of the new Administration’s national and state infrastructure project initiative and the possible homeland security implications and challenges that may accompany efforts focused on rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure.
