Cathy Lanier is a Commander at the Office of Homeland Security and Counter-terrorism, Office of the Chief of Police in Washington DC’s Metropolitan Police Department and was recently named the choice for new Police Chief of that force. She is a September 2005 graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Homeland Security Master’s Program and completed a thesis entitled (‘Preventing Terror Attacks in the Homeland: A New Mission for State and Local Police.’)
