The Advanced Persistent Threat: An Overview of Adversarial Nation State Cyber Operations against the United States

This self-study course provides a primer for the top national security cyber threats to the United States as well as the role of federal government agencies and private sector companies to counter them.   

Students will learn about the background, development, and capabilities of the cyber programs for China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. Students will also learn about current U.S. Government efforts to thwart foreign state cyber operations. This course will help homeland security practitioners understand the motivations and capabilities of advanced persistent threat (APT) actors so they can be better advocates for improved cybersecurity practices at their organizations.
