From Bill Eller – Regional Manager / State Agency Liasion, Washington State Conservation Commission

For me, the greatest benefit of attending the NPS CHDS master’s degree
program were the friendships I made with other homeland security
professionals. While the academic challenge presented by the program
was excellent, the friendships I made caused the “stovepipes of
excellence” to be broken and allowed for the free exchange of ideas,
knowledge and insights so much in need in this homeland security
endeavor. My strong commitment to public service and a desire to
contribute made me apply in spite of the tremendous commitment of time
and effort required to apply and attend the program. The return on
investment for me and the Washington State Conservation Commission has
just begun, but the network we have built at CHDS has already seen new
connections made for me and my agency and strengthened our existing ties
on a local, state, and national level.
