The Future of Warfare

John Robb of Global Guerillas explores the evolution of social and political structures amid technological and systemic changes, emphasizing the role of social networks, globalization, and complex crises. Reflecting on experiences like testifying before Congress and developing analytical frameworks at Forrester, the speaker highlights the shift from nation-state dominance to globalization’s complex webs. He discusses challenges like the early 2000s oil crisis and the inadequacy of traditional decision-making systems, advocating for network-based solutions to modern problems. The presentation also examines decentralized political movements and the rise of digital tribal dynamics, as described in David Bromfeld’s TIMN model, underscoring the ongoing digital transformation’s impact on cognition and social structures. This narrative emphasizes the necessity of adaptive, network-centric frameworks to navigate contemporary interconnected societies.

About the Speaker
