Who sponsors this program and who selects the participants?
The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Preparedness Directorate, FEMA. Ultimately they make the final selection of participants.

What costs are covered?
The program will cover all tuition, travel, lodging, books, supplies, etc. and costs related to the program. Per diem for meals and expenses is paid while you are here according to Government Travel Regulations (GTR), but the program does not reimburse you for time off from work or vacation time used.

Do I get paid for the time I take time off to participate in the program?
Your home agency is expected to provide the necessary time to participate in the program. You should contact your employer to check their leave policy.
