The Department of Homeland Security's National Preparedness Directorate, FEMA will pay for tuition, fees, classroom materials,
per diem for meals and other travel expenses for all eligible state, tribal, local and federal DHS officials who are accepted
to the program. Participants are expected to cover any personal expenses they incur.
The CHDS program afforded me the opportunity to learn about federal, state and local departments that are not part of my normal day-to-day operational areas. The program has already proved to be invaluable to me in that I have the ability to call anyone in the cohort for advice and assistance with situations that would have otherwise taken me hours to figure out through the various mazes of government entities.
