CHDS occasionally has openings for exceptionally talented educators in homeland security. Positions may be as part-time contractors or full-time Naval Postgraduate School Adjuncts. Candidates seeking tenure track positions should apply to the National Security Affairs department, instead of CHDS.
Candidates must have an outstanding record of achievement as evidenced through scholarly publications (books, peer-reviewed articles), and exceptional teaching and thesis advising skills. Candidates should also have experience with network-based, distributed learning, and with executive and other adult learners. A Ph.D. or suitable terminal degree with experience is preferred.
CHDS seeks candidates with expertise in one or more of the following topics spanning the field of homeland security: innovative leadership, change management, state-local-tribal government, public administration, strategy and planning, counter-terrorism, intelligence, infrastructure protection, public health, law enforcement, public safety, psychology of terrorism, border security, comparative governments, and homeland security technology.

Responsibilities: Content Specialists are responsible for entering new materials into the Homeland Security Digital Library's database. Their work makes it possible for library users to find resources contained within the collection. Content Specialists work as a team and evaluate each others' work to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout the database.
Requirements:

Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
Excellent writing, research and organization skills.
Strong computer skills.
Basic knowledge of issues and topics within the field of homeland security is preferred.

Application Developer – web and mobile
The Center for Homeland Defense and Security at the Naval Postgraduate School (CHDS) has been the nation's premier provider of homeland security graduate and executive level education since 2002. CHDS has an IT development team that builds internet-based applications in support of our academic programs and digital libraries – to include projects such as games/simulations, mapping, big data, blogging tools, searching and categorizing, and more. We have a position for a mid-level application developer with advanced scripting, design and technical experience. If you have strong internet app development skills, you like working in a small team, you like learning and trying new things and being challenged, then we'd like to hear from you.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated, advanced scripting and app development skills and experience. Knowledge of HTML5, JQUERY and JavaScript libraries, PHP, CSS and related web/mobile technologies.
Demonstrated database experience, preferably in mysql.
Advanced UI design and skill with custom business logic.
Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant field.
